BALI YOGA RETREAT
9-16 FEB 2025
THE SHALA BALI - UBUD
If sipping fresh coconuts, reconnecting with yourself and your practice overlooking lush green rice fields, and soaking in the indescribable Bali Spirit sounds tempting - THIS retreat is for you!
Once a year, we return to the Island of the Gods, or Mama Bali, where our teaching journey began, and where Inspiro Yoga was born in 2013. It’s impossible to put into words what makes this place so special, but one thing’s for sure - it feels like coming home.
Join us for an 8 day Bali Yoga Retreat at a stunning 4-star retreat venue, nestled amidst the rice fields outside of Ubud, the heart of the island.
We can’t wait to share this magical place, along with some of our favourite restaurants, spots, and activities, with you!
“The Bali retreat with Lisa and Naza was such a treat in so many ways and levels - a re-start for my body and soul!
Lisa and Naza guided us with such warmth, true knowledge and professionalism. I felt safe and could really let go and be true to my journey where ever it took me. A magical experience with so many impressions that still nurture my mind and give my energy when I think about it.”
JOHANNA JONASSON, SWEDEN (BALI RETREAT, FEB 2024)
The Yoga
This retreat’s for you who’ll jump out out bed in the morning excited to practice (overlooking the rice fields!). You’re someone who loves Vinyasa or similar dynamic style and like to get challenged both physically and mentally on the mat.
It’s for you who already have some yoga experience, not if you’re a complete beginner. With that said we offer plenty of variations in the classes as there will be many different levels in the group.
We make sure everyone’s met where they’re at in their practice.
Each day begins with a 2 hour morning practice consisting of open-level Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga with plenty of time to explore and move through the whole body, as well as pranayama and meditation (meaning it’s not 2 hours of movement in case that seems long!).
On most of the afternoons (on some days we go out for the day) we come together again for either an explorative workshop (a mix between asana, breath work and meditation) or a more quiet yin/restorative class.

The Food
Ubud is well-known all over the world for its incredible quality and taste of food. You’ll understand why when you get here! Not only will we have meals together at The Shala but we’ll also take you to some of our favourite restaurants in town!
After our dynamic morning practice a colourful breakfast buffet will be awaiting us at the The Shala Café. Expect fresh tropical fruit, homemade coconut yoghurt, smoothies, fresh juice, green Balinese pancakes, omelette and more!
For lunch and dinner you’ll get to savour vibrant, local and international cuisine prepared with the highest quality, organic, non-GMO ingredients from all over Bali.
We promise you’re in for a food experience and treat for life!
If you’re vegan or gluten and/or lactose intolerant simply let us know and we’ll pass on the details to the kitchen.
On two occasions (1 lunch and 1 dinner) we’ll go to our very own favourite restaurants in Ubud - which we KNOW you’ll love! These two meals are not included in your retreat package (they’ll cost about 15-20€/meal).
Our Venue
THE SHALA BALI - A SANCTUARY IN THE RICE-FIELDS
Our stunning venue for this retreat, The Shala Bali, is a 4-star hotel located right outside of Ubud, sometimes referred to as the Mecca of Yoga, in the middle of the island.
The venue can only be reached by foot walking through rice fields (about 10min walk), which means there’s no traffic of neither cars or motorbikes nearby. It’s the perfect place to unwind, reconnect to yourself and to nature.
The Shala offers a range of accommodation options: stay in a wooden Javanese joglo (bungalow) with a private garden, in a Balinese Villa Room with jungle or rice field views, or in one of the luxurious Master Suites. Some rooms are closer to the yoga shala and restaurant, while others are set a short walk through the rice fields.
Each room features an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, mosquito nets, free WiFi, a safe box, a mini fridge, and natural bath amenities. The venue provides daily cleaning of your room.
DARSHANA VEDA SPA
The Shala Bali has its own Ayurvedic spa, just a few minutes' walk from the venue. Here, you can pamper yourself with treatments such as Balinese massage, aromatherapy, flower baths, reflexology, and facials. A one-hour Balinese massage at the spa is included in your retreat package, which you can enjoy at any time during the week.
HOW TO GET HERE
The Shala Bali located just outside of the town of Ubud, about 1,5 hr drive from the airport (depending on traffic/time of day). A taxi from the airport to Ubud is about 30-40€.
It can be a bit overwhelming to grab a taxi yourself, with tons of drivers offering a ride at the arrival hall at the airport. If you’d like to get a taxi organised beforehand let us know and we’ll connect you to some of our local taxi friends/drivers.
We’re also happy to connect you to others who are joining the retreat who are arriving at the same/similar time as you.
NOTE: The taxi won’t be able to take you all the way to the venue as it’s located in the ricefields where not even motorbikes are allowed. You’ll need to be dropped off at Mumbai Station (an Indian Restaurant that belongs to The Shala Bali) located on the main road. From there you walk about 7 min toThe Shala. The staff from The Shala will help you with your luggage.
WHY WE LOVE IT…
SALT-WATER INFINITY POOL // YOGA SHALA OVER-LOOKING RICE FIELDS // STUNNING ROOMS // WONDERFUL STAFF // 5 MIN FROM UBUD // ORGANIC FOOD
Why Ubud, Bali?
It’s like a second home to us (we lived and taught here for five years), and we know the city and Bali by heart! We can’t wait to share the magic of this place and some of our favourite secret spots with you!
The way the Balinese infuse spirituality into their everyday lives is very inspiring and unique. You’ll see beautiful handmade Canang Sari flower offerings placed everywhere you look.
The food in Bali is incredible! The produce is fresh and comes straight from the land and trees, with an infinite variety of colourful (and sometimes unusual!) tropical fruits. Fresh coconuts are something you can find everywhere!
Practicing yoga in the tropics feels amazing for the body (and the view over the rice fields is one that will stick in your memory for life!)
The Balinese people are among the kindest in the world, always with a smile on their faces, helpful and genuine.
